Canoe down the Ouiska Chitto
River, a Louisiana scenic waterway with plenty of sandy white beaches
along the way. The beaches are of quartz crystal sands that squeek
under your feet, the water is clear and wild life can be seen
all around. For a back to nature trip we recommend weekdays,
as the weekends are populated with lots of canoers which
tend to scare some of the wild away.
The trip is nine miles long and is a slow and relaxing adventure.
We offer bus and van shuttles to and from the river. Showers
and changing rooms upon your return to the outpost, so you
can avoid getting sand in your vehicle.
We are the only members
of the American Canoe Association on the Ouiska Chitto River
and we place a very strong emphasis on safety. So bring your
ice chest full of cool drinks and get ready to drench yourself with sun
and cool clear waters.
